Holiday cottages in the Malvern Hills
Self-catering gives you a base for several days on the hills. Here is what to look for, and which parts of the Malverns suit which kind of trip.
What to look for
Distance to the hills
Check the postcode on a map. “Near Malvern” can mean ten miles away. Look for paths from the door or a short drive to a Malvern Hills Trust car park.
Parking and permits
Hill car parks charge by the day. For a longer stay, the Malvern Hills Trust annual pass may work out cheaper. Check its current price.
Dogs
Many cottages accept dogs but limit numbers or charge extra. Ask about enclosed gardens if your dog is a runner.
Hot tubs and extras
Hot tubs are popular after a day on the hills. Check whether it is private and whether there is a charge.

Which area?
For walking from the door, look for cottages in West Malvern, Malvern Wells or near British Camp. For trains, shops and restaurants, Great Malvern and Colwall are easier. Many cottages advertise as “Malvern” but are some distance away, so check the postcode.
