Why stay here

  • The climb out of the village onto the ridge is steep in places

Walking from Colwall

Paths lead from the village up the western slopes to the ridge. With the station in the village, you can walk over the hills to Great Malvern and take the train back.

Colwall sits on the western, Herefordshire side of the hills, just west of the railway tunnels that take the line under the ridge. It is a good choice if you want a quieter base than Great Malvern but still want to arrive by train.

The station makes linear walks easy. Walk up and over the ridge to Great Malvern or Malvern Link, then take the train back to Colwall. The Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership publishes a walk that does just that. See walks from Colwall.
