Driving to the Malvern Hills
Motorway junctions, the three roads that cross the ridge, and how to pick the right car park.
From the motorway
From the M5, leave at junction 7 or 8, east of Malvern. From the M50, junction 1 is on the A38 between Tewkesbury and Malvern. Then follow signs for Malvern.
Roads over the hills
Three roads cross the ridge, and the car parks cluster around them:
- The A449 runs through Malvern towards Ledbury and crosses the hills just north of British Camp, at the British Camp car park.
- The B4218 through the Wyche Cutting links Malvern with Colwall and passes the Beacon Road and Earnslaw car parks, the closest parking to the Worcestershire Beacon summit.
- The A438 at Hollybush crosses the southern hills between Midsummer Hill and Ragged Stone Hill.
Jubilee Drive (B4232) runs along the western side of the hills between the Wyche and British Camp, with several car parks along it.

Postcodes on the hills cover large areas, so use the postcode of the specific car park you want. Each car park page lists one, taken from the Malvern Hills Trust.
Livestock on the roads. On Castlemorton Common, south-east of the hills, animals have right of way on the roads. Drive slowly.
Electric vehicles
The Malvern Hills National Landscape lists public EV charging in Malvern at the Newtown Road / Link Top car park (WR14 1PD) and the Splash car park on Priory Road (WR14 3DS). Check a charging map for current availability.
