Flying & Gliding

Did you know
you can fly with the Air Cadets
before you can drive?

Flying with the Air Training Corps is one of the greatest thrills of life. To begin with you have the opportunity of accompanied flights in a wide range of aircraft and also the chance to visit many of the great RAF stations in this country and abroad.

GliderHowever, Air Cadets are not restricted just to flying powered aircraft, these opportunities also encompasses Gliders (powered and non-powered), Microlights and Hang Gliders.

Each Cadet is given specialist training in their choice of flight and as training continues many Cadets go on to achieve Flying Scholarships and Private Pilots Licence. All of this takes place through courses spread over a number of weekends or intensive week long courses. In the case of the week long courses many Cadets successfully fly solo at the end of this period of training.

The added bonus of being an Air Cadet is that through other sources these activities are not only hard to come by but are also very expensive. For Air Cadets these opportunities are just part of life.
